LONG-LASTING INSTALLATIONS
We specialize in HDPE and PVC pipe installations
HDPE pipe
We mainly use HDPE pipe and fittings for mainline and manifolds in pumphouses and in-field installations.
PVC pipe
Due to the stiffness of PVC pipe, we use it for all fertigation system-related piping.
Butt welding and electrofusion welding
We do butt welding of HDPE pipes ranging from 40 to 315mm in diameter and electrofusion welding of HDPE pipes 16 to 600mm in diameter.

Optimus Agri specialises in installing all components related to large-scale irrigation and fertigation projects.
Luan Retief started Optimus Agri in April 2021. Since then, Optimus Agri has taken on multiple projects ranging from pipelines to full-scale irrigation pumphouses.
To date, the largest irrigation project completed is a 250-ha avocado and macadamia development in which Optimus Agri is responsible for the pumphouse. Pumphouses built by Optimus Agri are currently serving a total of 530 ha and expanding.
Optimus Agri also does HDPE pipelines in which the longest continuous pipeline to date is 1,6km, all butt-welded together. His experience as lead technician and then technical manager has equipped him with the knowledge and skills surrounding installations for water and fertiliser supply and electrical components and wiring.
Optimus Agri offers the following services:
- HDPE installations for mainlines and head control.
- Butt-welding up to 315mm in-house, with expansion to 630mm planned.
- Electrofusion-welding.
- PVC installations.
- Irrigation filter installations.
- Fertigation unit installations.
Optimus Agri has partnered with RMC Electrical for all electrical and automation-related installations.
